OpenClaw Development & Production Support

What is OpenClaw

OpenClaw is an open-source AI agent that runs on your own server or machine. It connects WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Teams, and iMessage to a single always-on AI assistant – so your team can send requests from the apps they already use, and get results back without touching a new tool.

Out of the box, OpenClaw can browse the web, work with files, run scheduled tasks, and call external APIs. Sphere connects it to the systems your business actually runs on – CRMs, ERPs, internal databases – and configures the workflow logic that turns a chat message into a completed business task.

Start with a free OpenClaw readiness assessment.

You get less switching and faster results. No new tools to learn.

The teams who get the most from OpenClaw are the ones already bouncing between chat, a CRM, a browser, and a spreadsheet to complete one task.

OpenClaw Development Services by Sphere

Most teams get OpenClaw running in a day. Getting it running securely, cost-efficiently, and reliably enough to trust with real business workflows is a different project entirely. That’s what Sphere handles.

OpenClaw Use Cases for Organizations

Invoice intake & processing

Suppliers email invoices as PDFs. OpenClaw reads each one, matches it to the open purchase order in the ERP, creates the payable record, files the PDF, and sends a Slack confirmation to the finance manager – amount, PO number, due date, logged. No one touches it in between.

The finance team stops doing data entry. The Slack message is the only step that needs a human.

Systems: Gmail / Outlook · SAP / NetSuite / Xero · Slack

A customer messages via WhatsApp with an order issue. OpenClaw pulls their record from the CRM, checks the order status, categorises the issue, and drafts a reply in the brand’s tone – ready for an agent to send, or sent automatically if it’s routine.

Agents start on the response, not the research. Handle time drops from the first day.

Systems: WhatsApp Business · HubSpot / Salesforce / Zoho · Slack

Customer support triage

Morning inbox briefing

At 7:30am, OpenClaw scans the inbox and sends a WhatsApp or Telegram message split into three buckets – urgent, pending, and noise. Each urgent item gets a one-line summary and a suggested next step.

The morning starts with a 2-minute read instead of 45 minutes in the inbox.

Systems: Gmail / Outlook · WhatsApp / Telegram

When a new lead hits the CRM, OpenClaw researches the company, finds the right contact on LinkedIn, assesses fit against the ICP, and writes a summary back into the record with a suggested opening message. The rep gets a Slack ping before they’ve even opened the contact.

Reps start every conversation already knowing the prospect. Research that took 20 minutes per lead now takes zero.

We deploy OpenClaw in your environment, integrated with 2–3 key systems, with defined success criteria.

Skill buildout

Sphere engineers build custom skills for your workflows and configure your vertical skill pack. Compliance overlay applied.

Scale & operate

Roll out to additional teams and systems. Optional managed retainer keeps the deployment current as your needs evolve.

OpenClaw gives you the platform. Sphere makes it work.

OpenClaw ships with the gateway, channels, tools, sessions, and multi-agent routing already built. What it doesn’t ship with is someone who knows your systems, your team, and your workflows. That’s what Sphere does. There’s a wide gap between “software installed” and “team relying on it every day.” We close that gap.

  • Gateway & channels → Deployment in your environment
  • Agent tools → Connection to your actual systems
  • Session management → Workflow logic for your processes
  • Access controls → Governance configured for your team
  • Multi-agent routing → Production support & ongoing tuning

Our experience with Sphere and their team has been and continues to be fantastic. We keep throwing new projects at them, and they keep knocking them out of the park (including the rescue of a project that was previously bungled by another vendor).

Bruce Burdick Chief Information Officer at Integra Credit

We've been working with Sphere and its excellent consultants since our founding. Their combination of offshore talent, pricing, and shift offsetting is hard to beat. They provide crucial augmentation to our in-house team. We simply couldn't achieve our production ambitions without their service.

Sphere Partners
Jemal Swoboda CEO at Dabble

The resources and developers that Sphere Software provides are skilled and have the required technical expertise to complete their tasks successfully, with the team easily scaled in either direction. The deliverables are always high-quality.

With Sphere, we were able to migrate in half the time it would take to train an additional FTE…

Sphere Partners
Lee Ebreo VP of Engineering at Credit Ninja

These things would not have been achievable if we did not build our own in-house system. We augmented our development team capabilities using Sphere’s developer, who works very well with our Dev Lead in Chicago. Sphere’s developer was an expert in the new system, and continues to be an expert as we evolve it.

Frequently asked question

OpenClaw is an open-source, self-hosted AI assistant gateway that connects AI agents to messaging channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Signal, iMessage, Google Chat, and Microsoft Teams. It acts as the control plane for channels, sessions, tools, and agent routing, so users can send requests from chat and get work completed in the same thread.

OpenClaw runs a local-first gateway on your machine or server and routes incoming messages from connected channels to the right AI agent based on your configuration. It manages sessions, tools, automation, and agent routing, which allows one message to trigger browsing, file work, scheduled jobs, or actions through connected systems.

Yes. OpenClaw is designed as a self-hosted, local-first system. Its docs describe it as something you run on your own devices, server, or VPS, with the gateway acting as the control plane for your channels, sessions, and tools.

OpenClaw publicly lists support for WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Google Chat, Signal, iMessage, Microsoft Teams, Matrix, LINE, Mattermost, and additional messaging surfaces. The official introduction and GitHub repo both position multi-channel chat access as a core feature.

Yes. Out of the box, OpenClaw supports tools, automation, and agent extensibility. That gives teams a foundation for connecting external APIs, internal systems, and business workflows. Sphere’s role is to connect that foundation to the systems where operations actually happen, such as CRM, ERP, document repositories, and internal databases.

OpenClaw supports agent tools, sessions, routing, and automation, which makes multi-step workflows possible. A request can move across multiple tools and systems in sequence instead of stopping at a text reply. Its docs specifically reference tools, routing, sessions, cron jobs, and automation as built-in parts of the platform.

OpenClaw includes a built-in scheduler called Cron. Its documentation states that cron jobs can persist, wake the agent at the right time, and optionally deliver results back into chat, which makes recurring inbox digests, reminders, and unattended workflows possible.

Session management is a core part of the platform. The official docs describe per-sender sessions with group isolation and activation modes, which means follow-up messages can continue an existing workflow instead of starting from zero each time.

OpenClaw includes important security controls by default, especially for messaging access. The official docs and repo describe DM pairing, allowlists, and sandbox isolation for group chats as default security measures. That said, OpenClaw still needs careful deployment and policy setup before it should be trusted with production workflows.

Sphere handles the parts between installation and reliable business use: deployment, integrations, workflow design, access boundaries, testing, cost control, and production support. OpenClaw provides the platform primitives; Sphere makes them work in your environment. This positioning is consistent with OpenClaw’s documented architecture and security model.
