Beyond such an agent, broader AI governance measures should be in place: for example, define an AI ethics committee or designate responsible AI officers who review the behavior of autonomous agents periodically. Implement strict access controls so agents only perform actions within their granted authority (prevent an overly enthusiastic agent from accessing systems it shouldn’t). Use deterministic safeguards and anomaly detection to catch when an agent’s reasoning goes off the rails – this could be as simple as setting thresholds (if an agent is about to order 1000 units instead of the usual 100, require confirmation) or as complex as using machine learning to detect when agent output deviates from expected norms.
