Accuracy holds within 1–2 percentage points during typical frontal-passage weather. In rapidly evolving convective conditions, the platform surfaces a confidence band alongside the point forecast so dispatch and trading desks know when to widen reserve margins. Models are re-trained per site monthly and continuously calibrated against your local sensor network — accuracy improves the longer the model runs on your fleet.
Most fleets are live in 2–4 weeks. Week 1 is data connection and validation against a representative subset of sites. Week 2 runs the model in shadow mode against your historical operations. Weeks 3–4 move into supervised production. Customer-side effort during onboarding is approximately 4–8 hours of engineering time per week — primarily a SCADA integrator and one operations stakeholder. Full data dumps or schema redesigns are not required to start.
The minimum data requirement is inverter-level AC output, POI metering, and local irradiance at 1–5 minute granularity. The platform sits alongside your existing control layer rather than replacing it. Setpoint changes are recommended by default and only routed through closed-loop control once you’ve explicitly opted in for that asset.
Sphere Inc. is hardware-agnostic and operates across an entire portfolio at once, surfacing the fleet-level revenue leakage that single-vendor OEM portals and O&M ticketing systems are not built to detect — soiling, inverter clipping, dispatch errors, and curtailment exposure that compound across a portfolio. OEM portals optimize for the equipment they sold you. O&M vendors optimize for ticket throughput. Sphere Inc. operates across all your sites at once and sees patterns no single-vendor stack can see.
Yes — Sphere Inc. supports both recommendation mode and autonomous dispatch. Most customers begin in recommendation mode, where the platform advises trading and operations on bids, charge/discharge schedules, and curtailment responses. Once trust is established, specific assets can graduate to autonomous dispatch with rule-based guardrails (price floors, SoC bounds, ramp limits) that the customer sets. Out-of-the-box market coverage includes CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, PJM, NYISO, SPP, AESO, and the major European day-ahead and intraday markets.
Sphere Inc. runs single-tenant by default. Customer data is encrypted in transit and at rest, segregated at the storage level, and never co-mingled with another tenant. The platform is SOC 2 Type II certified and aligns its control set to NERC CIP-013 / CIP-014 for utility customers, with a FedRAMP-aligned profile available for federal-adjacent deployments. On-prem and air-gapped deployments are supported for sites under specific regulatory regimes. Customers operating under those constraints should engage with us before assuming the cloud version is the only option.
Every Sphere Inc. customer gets a baseline established in week one against historical operations and a benchmark site that runs unmodified. Uplift is attributed through a continuous A/B framework — comparing AI-managed versus baseline-managed performance — and surfaced as dollarized impact in a quarterly business review your CFO can audit. If Sphere Inc. does not beat the baseline by your contracted threshold within the first six months, the engagement is restructured at our cost.
