Sphere Partners
Secure Code Review

Find the holes scanners miss.

Tools catch patterns. Sphere engineers read your code the way an attacker would: authorization, business logic, data flows and third-party integrations, then show you the exact fix and re-test it. Results in 1–4 weeks, mapped to the OWASP Top 10.

Scanners vs. people

Tools find patterns. Attackers find logic.

Scanners and AI reviewers are a useful first pass. The vulnerabilities that end up in incident reports usually live in authorization, business logic and the seams between services, where pattern-matching falls short.

Coverage

Mapped to the OWASP Top 10. Then your business logic.

Every review covers the categories auditors and security teams recognize, and every finding is mapped to one. Then we look at the rules only your product has.

Broken access controlUsers reaching data or actions they shouldn't
InjectionSQL, NoSQL, command and template injection
Cryptographic failuresWeak algorithms, exposed secrets and keys
Security misconfigurationUnsafe defaults, verbose errors, open settings
Insecure designFlaws in the logic, not just the code
Authentication failuresSessions, tokens, passwords and MFA
Vulnerable componentsOutdated and risky third-party dependencies
Software & data integrityUntrusted updates, pipelines and deserialization
Logging & alerting failuresAttacks that happen without anyone noticing

When teams call us

Three moments a security review pays for itself.

Most reviews start with one of these. Pick yours.

Audit readiness

Walk into the audit with evidence, not hope.

Auditors ask how you find and fix vulnerabilities in your code. A secure code review gives you the findings, the fixes and the re-test to show them.

You walk away with
  • Findings mapped to OWASP and the controls your auditor asks about
  • Fix guidance your team can act on
  • A re-test report as evidence
  • A written summary for your auditor
How it works

From scope to verified fixes.

Tooling for coverage, senior engineers for judgment, and a re-test so you know the fixes work. Most reviews take 1–4 weeks.

  1. Step 1

    Scope & threat model

We agree what's in scope, sign the NDA and map where the sensitive data and high-risk entry points are.

You getA fixed scope, a fixed price and a review plan.
  2. Step 2

    Tool-assisted sweep

Static analysis and dependency scanning give us full coverage of known patterns, so our engineers can focus on what tools miss.

You getA baseline of known-pattern issues, triaged.
  3. Step 3

    Manual review

Senior engineers read authorization, business logic, data flows and integrations the way an attacker would, and confirm every finding.

You getConfirmed findings ranked by exploitability and impact.
  4. Step 4

    Report, fixes & re-test

Every finding comes with severity, OWASP mapping and the exact fix. We walk your team through it, then re-test the fixes.

You getA written report and proof that each fix works.

A concrete change in your language and framework, not a documentation link.

A re-test

We verify each fix, so you have proof it works.

A walkthrough

A live session with your engineers to agree priorities and answer questions.

Questions

Secure code review, answered directly.

Don't see yours? Ask it on the scoping call.

Request a security review scoping call
How is secure code review different from a penetration test?

A pen test attacks the running application from the outside. A secure code review reads the source, so it finds issues a black-box test can miss, like flawed authorization logic, unsafe data handling and risky dependencies, and it points to the exact line to fix.

We already use a scanner or an AI code reviewer. Why add this?

Keep them. Tools are good at known patterns; they struggle with business logic, authorization and how data moves across services. We use tooling as a first pass, then senior engineers confirm what's real and find what the tools can't.

Do you review AI-generated code?

Yes. Code written by AI assistants tends to look clean while missing authorization checks, input validation or safe defaults. We review it the same way as human-written code, with extra attention to those patterns.

Will this get us SOC 2 or PCI compliant?

A code review doesn't certify you, but it helps you prepare: we map findings to the OWASP Top 10 and to the controls your auditor will ask about, and the report plus the re-test give you evidence that issues were found and fixed.

What's included?

Scoping and a light threat model, a tool-assisted sweep, manual review by senior engineers, a written report with severity and fix guidance for every finding, a walkthrough with your team and a re-test of the fixes.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

Most reviews take 1–4 weeks, depending on the size of the codebase and what's in scope. We fix the timeline and quote a fixed price at the scoping call, before any work begins.
